Press members wishing to cover 22nd Tokyo International Film Festival are requested to read the following description carefully before applying for a Press Pass.
Applications for Accreditation Renewal
- Available only to those members of the press who were accredited for last year's festival.
Registration begins Monday, July 27, at 12.00 p.m.
Applications for New Accreditations
- Available to members of the press who were not accredited for last year's festival.
Registration begins Monday, August 3, at 12.00 p.m.
* We will review your application and notify you of the result by e-mail.

ID Screenings (Screenings for Pass holders)
To ensure access to an ID screening, please make a reservation in advance through the TIFF website. A seat for a screening cannot be assured without a reservation.
* The screenings schedule and instructions for making a reservation will be available on the TIFF website and will also be sent to all members of the press via e-mail.
Press Pass Pick-up
Instructions for picking up your Press Pass will be available on the TIFF website and also sent via e-mail to all members of the press.
* The Press Pass must be presented at the entrance of all TIFF events except for the Opening and Closing events. To register for these two events, please present your business card.
1. *Members of the press who require visa documents in order to visit Japan for the festival must submit either of the following documents to TIFF,
a. A letter from your editor/producer on official company letterhead assigning you to cover the festival.
b. A copy of your Certificate of Employment (issued by your employer).
Please send the copy by e-mail to tiff-press2009@tiff-jp.net before September 25, 2009.
Shortly thereafter, instructions for acquiring the visa will be sent to you by e-mail.
To ensure smooth processing of your visa, please submit your Press Pass application and the above required document as early as possible.
2. Information regarding Accreditation Renewal has been sent by e-mail to all members who received a Press Pass last year. If you have not received this information, please contact the Publicity and Advertising Division.
3. The Press Pass will be issued with your photo from last year. You may change the photo by uploading a new one.
